Med Surg Telemetry RN | Elizabethtown, KY | 13-Week Contract

Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Start Date: October 5, 2026 | Duration: 13 Weeks

This step-down telemetry unit manages a diverse adult patient population transitioning from ICU-level care. All patients are on continuous cardiac monitoring, and the unit regularly cares for individuals with GI bleeds, respiratory distress, COVID-related illness, and other acute medical and cardiac conditions. Critical drips are used on the unit, requiring strong assessment and medication management skills. All rooms are private.

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring and EKG interpretation
• Administration of critical drips and medications per physician orders
• Pre- and post-operative care including wound care and pain management
• Coordinating with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams on care planning and discharge
• Patient and family education on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• Active RN license (Kentucky or applicable compact license)
• BLS and ACLS required
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency required

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg Telemetry experience required
• BSN preferred; ADN considered
