Registered Nurse
Med Surg Telemetry RN | Elizabethtown, KY | 13-Week Contract
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Start Date: October 5, 2026 | Duration: 13 Weeks
This step-down telemetry unit manages a diverse adult patient population transitioning from ICU-level care. All patients are on continuous cardiac monitoring, and the unit regularly cares for individuals with GI bleeds, respiratory distress, COVID-related illness, and other acute medical and cardiac conditions. Critical drips are used on the unit, requiring strong assessment and medication management skills. All rooms are private.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring and EKG interpretation
- Administration of critical drips and medications per physician orders
- Pre- and post-operative care including wound care and pain management
- Coordinating with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams on care planning and discharge
- Patient and family education on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Active RN license (Kentucky or applicable compact license)
- BLS and ACLS required
- Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency required
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg Telemetry experience required
- BSN preferred; ADN considered
