Labor & Delivery RN — Night Shift | Greensboro, NC
Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: Nights, 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Start Date: September 21, 2026
This Labor & Delivery unit cares for laboring patients across a range of acuity levels, including high-risk cases such as pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa/abruption, malpresentations, multiple gestation, and premature rupture of membranes. Nurses work in close collaboration with interdisciplinary teams including rapid response, pharmacy, respiratory services, and phlebotomy.
Schedule & Float:
- Every other weekend required (approximately 6 Sat/Sun weekends per contract)
- Holidays scheduled as needed
- Float required to MAU, MBU, and OBSC
Required Certifications:
- BLS, ACLS, NRP
Preferred:
- AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced
Key Clinical Skills:
- External and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration
- Epidural anesthesia assistance, Pitocin/oxytocin and magnesium sulfate management
- C-section circulation and recovery, high-risk delivery support
- Neonatal resuscitation, APGAR scoring, radiant warmer/thermoregulation
- IV management, blood product administration, insulin drips, antihypertensives
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of L&D experience (first-time travelers welcome)
- Active RN license in hand at time of submission
- EKG compliance exam required (2 attempts allowed)
- No open background cases; no local candidates within 50 miles
- COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
Orientation is approximately 24 hours; non-billable online modules (2–4 hours) are completed during orientation.
