Labor & Delivery RN — Night Shift | Greensboro, NC | 13-Week Contract

This Labor & Delivery position is a great fit for nurses with at least one year of L&D experience — first-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Shift & Schedule

  • Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts
  • Every other weekend required; holidays scheduled as needed
  • Total weekend shifts: 12–14 per contract (typically 6 Sat/Sun weekends)

Float Requirements

Travelers may be floated to the Maternal Antepartum Unit (MAU), Mother-Baby Unit (MBU), and Obstetric Special Care (OBSC) as needed.

Clinical Scope

This high-acuity unit cares for laboring patients across a wide range of clinical presentations, including:

  • High-risk deliveries, C-section circulation and recovery, vaginal deliveries, and VBAC management
  • Pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa/abruption, and hemorrhage/shock
  • Neonatal resuscitation, APGAR scoring, and thermoregulation
  • Magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
  • External and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement, and spiral electrode placement
  • Epidural anesthesia assistance, amnioinfusion, and multiple gestation management

Required Certifications

BLS, ACLS, NRP — AWHONN Intermediate preferred

Additional Requirements

  • Active RN license in hand at time of submission
  • Must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
  • No local candidates within 50 miles
  • Requested time off must be submitted with application
  • Orientation: approximately 24 hours (includes non-billable unit-based modules)
  • COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
