Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Position Overview
The facility's nuclear medicine department is seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist for an 8-week contract assignment. You'll perform a variety of imaging studies in a fast-paced, specialized environment with approximately 12–15 scans per day.
Clinical Scope
You will perform cardiac imaging, HIDA scans, gastric emptying studies, lung scans, thyroid uptake tests, and tilt studies. IV starts and ECG monitoring are core responsibilities; prior experience with both is required.
Schedule & Call
- Primary shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
- Rotating weekends: Call coverage every 4th weekend (Friday 4:30 PM–7:00 AM; Saturday & Sunday, 24-hour coverage)
- Weekday call: One day per week when not on weekend duty
- Guaranteed hours: 40 per week
Requirements
- ARRT or NMTCB certification required
- BLS certification required
- West Virginia State License required
- Valid, unexpired driver's license must be submitted with application
- Experienced with IV placement and ECG monitoring
Practical Details
- No floating to other departments
- Department-specific orientation provided
- Dress code: Black scrubs (no embroidery or t-shirts); scrub jackets for warmth; no Crocs with holes or backless styles
- Scrubs not provided
- Radiation badge required (agency-provided)
- Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week assignment; 1 shift for shorter assignments
