NICU Nurse – 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
The facility seeks experienced NICU nurses for a rotating 3x12-hour shift schedule in a high-acuity Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. You'll provide direct care to neonates with complex surgical, gastrointestinal, respiratory, and neurological conditions, including a regional high-acuity fetal care center.
Shift Schedule
- Day: 07:00–19:30
- Night: 19:00–07:30
- Rotating days and nights
- 3 shifts per week
Clinical Scope
This unit manages high-volume, critically ill neonates requiring mechanical ventilation and advanced respiratory support. Common diagnoses include respiratory distress syndrome, intraventricular hemorrhage, congenital diaphragmatic hernia, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, necrotizing enterocolitis, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, and multiple surgical conditions.
You'll work with ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, bubble CPAP, oscillators, nitric oxide, arterial lines, peritoneal dialysis, EVDs, G-tubes, and tracheostomy management. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory therapy, IV teams, social services, and rapid response teams.
Requirements
- Current RN license (Ohio or Compact)
- Minimum 2 years Level IV NICU experience
- Ventilator and tracheostomy experience
- Current BLS and NRP certifications
- Supervisor reference within the past 2 years

- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start: September 28, 2026
- Patient ratios: 1:3 (days and nights)
- May float to other hospital locations
- 36-hour orientation
