Telemetry/Medical-Surgical Nursing – 13-Week Contract

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its telemetry unit. You'll provide comprehensive care to adult patients with complex medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions—including CHF, stroke, ESRD, and post-operative cases. Patients are admitted from the ICU, ED, and PACU.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; identify and respond to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care and discharge planning with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and team members
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment, medications, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift
• Follow infection control and fall prevention protocols

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIHSS and annual dysrhythmia competency validation required within 6 months
• 1+ years of med-surg telemetry experience
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
