NICU RN – Travel Contract | Santa Rosa, CA

Shift: 4x12 Nights (19:00–07:00)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Start Date: ASAP

Specialty: Neonatal Intensive Care (Level III)

This Level III NICU position serves a neonatal patient population ranging from 27 weeks gestational age and above. NICU nurses are also expected to attend deliveries for stabilization — including high-risk, preterm, and meconium cases — and perform newborn resuscitation in the OR and at deliveries. Neonates under 27 weeks will be stabilized and transferred.

Clinical Skills Required:

• UAC/UVC management, arterial line management, central line blood draws
• Bubble CPAP, HFNC, oxygen delivery systems
• Surfactant and steroid administration, respiratory distress and meconium aspiration management
• Neonatal sepsis workup, phototherapy, hyperbilirubinemia management
• Feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), NG/NJ tube placement and management
• Neonatal dosage calculations, blood glucose monitoring, IV initiation and maintenance
• Attending high-risk deliveries; newborn resuscitation

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year Level III NICU experience (3 years preferred)
• Active BLS and NRP certifications
• Compact RN license in hand at time of submission
• Must be able to attend deliveries and perform newborn resuscitation — hard stop

Scheduling Details:

• Weekends and on-call required
• Float to nearby sister facilities may be required
• Must commit to 3 of 5 designated holidays
• All RTO must be submitted at time of application
• 24-hour orientation; self-scheduling unit
• Guaranteed hours subject to 1 call-off per 2-week period

Dress Code: Royal blue or navy blue scrubs
