Medical-Surgical RN — Night Shift | Morgantown, WV

13-Week Contract | 4x12 Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Start: ASAP

This acute care med-surg unit manages a diverse adult patient population with complex, high-acuity diagnoses. The team delivers evidence-based care with strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, rapid response, and phlebotomy.

Clinical Scope

The unit cares for patients presenting with CVA, post-MI, renal failure, substance withdrawal, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, bowel obstruction, bariatric and total joint surgical recovery, pre/post neurosurgery, and pre/post hemodialysis needs. Nurses regularly manage tracheostomies, chest tubes, wound vacs, PICC lines, BiPAP/CPAP, PCA pumps, IV insulin protocols, and dysrhythmias.

Schedule & Expectations

• 4x12-hour night shifts; weekday and weekend coverage required
• Daily census: 25–30 patients
• The unit will make reasonable efforts to accommodate schedule requests but cannot guarantee blocked scheduling
• Attendance is strictly monitored; no more than 2–3 call-offs per contract will be tolerated

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in med-surg
• Active WV or Compact RN license (pending license accepted for submission)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS — BLS and ACLS must be AHA-issued
• Permanent address 50+ miles from the facility preferred; candidates within 75–100 miles considered case-by-case
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Scrubs: not provided
• Travel experience not required
