This fast-paced surgical unit in Nashville, TN manages post-operative patients across a broad range of surgical specialties, including vascular, bariatric, urology, colorectal, and general surgery. The unit operates at a brisk pace with short lengths of stay, requiring strong time management and confident clinical skills.
Shift Details
- Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: September 28, 2026
Clinical Scope
- Post-operative wound care: packing, dressing changes, wound vac maintenance
- Foley catheter care and continuous bladder irrigation
- Ostomy appliance management
- Nasogastric tube insertion and suction
- Total parenteral nutrition (TPN) administration
- Blood administration
- Central line care and dressing changes
- Bedside shift report
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong time management in a high-volume, short-LOS environment
- Collaborative team player
- BLS certification required
- Prior experience in post-operative surgical settings preferred (vascular, bariatric, urology, general surgery, colorectal)
Float Requirement
- May float to Medical-Surgical units
Dress Code
- Black, grey, white, or royal blue scrubs
