Special Procedures Rad Tech — Interventional Radiology | Long Beach, CA
Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: 4x10-Hour Days, 07:00–17:30 | Schedule: Monday–Friday (days may fluctuate based on operational needs)
This interventional radiology role is based in a busy special procedures suite serving a diverse patient population spanning pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, with approximately 20 cases per day across 4 procedure rooms.
Call Requirements
- On-call 1–2 days per week
- 1 weekend on-call every 5 weeks
Clinical Scope
You will scrub and circulate across a broad range of interventional procedures, including:
- Angioplasty, aortography, adrenal/mesenteric/pelvic/renal angiography
- Embolization, chemoembolization, and uterine arterial embolization
- IVC filter placement and removal, stent placement, renal artery stent placement
- Liver biopsy, nephrostomy, gastrostomy, cholecystostomy, cystoscopy
- Thoracentesis, paracentesis, ERCP, ureteral stent placement
- Endovascular interventions and laser-assisted procedures
- Sterile field maintenance, vascular closure systems, and dysrhythmia interpretation
Requirements
- ARRT (R) and BLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of experience; first-time travelers accepted
- California license must be in hand at time of submission
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- COVID-19 vaccine not required
Additional Details
- Scrubs provided by the facility
- 24-hour orientation; 4-hour non-billable module requirement
- Float within the facility based on census
- One professional reference required (within 2 years)
