Telemetry / Med-Surg RN — Night Shift | West Burlington, IA
Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Hours: 36 per week (overtime possible) | Start: September 28, 2026
This night-shift travel RN role supports a combined Telemetry and Medical-Surgical unit caring for adult, geriatric, and medical/surgical patient populations. You'll use the nursing process — assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation — in collaboration with an interdisciplinary care team.
What to Expect:
- Prior to your first day, you'll be expected to self-study telemetry strip interpretation; a Basic Dysrhythmia test-out is administered during the first week and must be passed to work on the unit
- Every-other-weekend rotation required
- Float requirement is in effect for all non-critical care inpatient units, including the Emergency Department (for boarded patients); nurses with critical care experience may occasionally float to the CCU
- Occasional on-call during low-census periods; must be able to arrive on-site within one hour if called in
- Float to satellite campuses may be required at times
Required Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- ACLS certification
- Electronic health record experience in a comparable unit within the last 12 months
- Strong telemetry/dysrhythmia recognition skills
Immunization & Health Requirements:
- COVID-19, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, Influenza vaccines
- TB test, fit test, drug screen, and color vision screening required at onboarding
This is a strong fit for an experienced Telemetry or Med-Surg RN comfortable with cardiac monitoring, a flexible float environment, and a fast-paced night shift.
