Registered Nurse

Ortho/Trauma RN | Kansas City, Missouri | 13-Week Contract

This med-surg ortho/trauma unit cares for post-operative joint replacement patients (knee, hip, and shoulder) alongside trauma and neuro overflow cases. The unit is supported by unit secretaries and patient care technicians throughout each shift.

Shift & Schedule

• Days: 07:00–19:00
• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Three weekend shifts per schedule period

Float Policy

Contract travelers are first to float. Potential float destinations include General Med-Surg, Nephrology, and Neuro/Trauma units.

Patient Experience Standards

• Bedside shift report
• Hourly rounding

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification
• Ortho nursing experience (required)
• Telemetry competency

Preferred Qualifications

• NIH Stroke Scale experience

Clinical Scope

Nurses on this unit manage post-surgical orthopedic patients, trauma admissions, and neuro overflow. Equipment used includes traction devices, external fixators, and cooling therapy systems.

Dress Code: Navy scrubs
