Location: Brighton, MA
Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: Every other weekend, every other holiday
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Start Date: August 24, 2026
About the Role
Join the ICU team at the facility as a Registered Nurse providing direct care to critically ill patients. You'll work in a multi-specialty ICU managing high-acuity cases including cardiac, surgical, medical, neurological, and cardiothoracic patients. This role offers the opportunity to practice at the full scope of critical care nursing in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care, including assessment, monitoring, and intervention for critically ill patients
- Manage advanced life support equipment: ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and hemodynamic monitors
- Administer medications, including titratable vasoactive and sedation drips, per physician orders
- Interpret telemetry rhythm strips independently and respond to patient changes
- Collaborate with intensivists, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams on plan of care
- Perform rapid response and code interventions as needed
- Educate patients and families on condition and treatment plan
- Document accurately in the electronic health record
- May float to Medical/Surgical units as staffing needs require
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (state or compact license)
- Minimum 2 years ICU experience in a multi-specialty setting
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Diploma, ASN, or BSN (BSN preferred)
- Telemetry experience and ability to independently read/interpret strips
- Effective communication and basic computer proficiency
Preferred
- CCRN certification
- Experience with critical care equipment and titratable drips
Tele competency test on day 1.
