Operating Room Nurse – Robotic & Orthopedic Surgery
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Operating Room Nurse to join a high-volume surgical program specializing in robotic-assisted and orthopedic procedures. You'll work in a fast-paced OR environment managing complex cases with advanced surgical technology.
Shift & Schedule
- Days: Monday–Friday, 4×10 hr shifts (40 hrs/week)
- Call rotation: 1 night/week and up to 1 weekend/month
- Holiday rotation required (1–2 of 3 summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
- Contract duration: 13 weeks
- Orientation dates: 9/14, 9/21, or 9/28
Clinical Scope
You'll support cases in orthopedics (total joints), general surgery, and spine procedures using advanced robotic platforms. Approximately 80% of total joint cases use robotic-assisted technology.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 24 months of OR nursing experience
- Current Iowa state license or compact/multistate license
- Proficient with DaVinci Xi robotic platform
- Proficient with Mako or Rosa orthopedic robotics systems
- Experience in orthopedic total joint procedures
- General surgery experience
- Spine surgery experience within the past 12 months
- Travel nursing experience within the past 15 months
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- Valid driver's license
- Professional reference from supervisor/charge nurse/manager (within 24 months)
Note: Scrub experience is preferred.
