Clinical Nurse – ICU

Location: Fairfield, CA

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Duration: 13 weeks

Position Overview

The facility's ICU is seeking a compassionate, skilled Clinical Nurse to deliver comprehensive care to critically ill patients. You'll work in a dynamic environment managing high-acuity patients requiring intensive monitoring, advanced life support, and rapid clinical decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients; assess, monitor, and respond to changes in condition
  • Manage advanced equipment including ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and hemodynamic monitors
  • Administer medications, including titratable vasoactive and sedation drips, per physician orders
  • Collaborate with intensivists, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams on care planning
  • Perform rapid response and code interventions as needed
  • Educate patients and families on condition, treatment, and care needs
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols for high-acuity patient populations
  • Support a patient-centered, relationship-based care model

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license in California (or compact license)
  • BLS and ACLS certification (AHA)
  • Minimum 1 year of ICU or critical care experience
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Experience with critical care equipment, hemodynamic monitoring, and titratable drips

Preferred

  • CCRN certification
  • NIHSS certification

Schedule Details

  • Day shift (7 AM – 7 PM)
  • Willing and able to float to sister facility as needed
  • Accelerated work schedule; daily time off (DT) after 12 hours; overtime after 40 hours/week
