Clinical RN – Med/Surg Float Pool

Location: Fairfield, CA

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (nights, 3×12-hour shifts)

Contract: 13 weeks

Start Date: October 9, 2026

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Clinical RN for a float pool assignment across Medical/Surgical and Medical/Telemetry units. You'll deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care to adults with diverse acute and chronic conditions using a relationship-based care model.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and implement nursing care for patients with varying medical and surgical diagnoses
• Monitor patient condition and respond promptly to changes; escalate care as needed
• Administer medications and treatments; manage pre- and post-operative care including wound care and pain management
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care and participate in discharge planning
• Delegate tasks appropriately to care team members and supervise assigned nursing care
• Document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift

Requirements

• License: Active California RN license (or compact license)
• Education: BSN preferred; ADN accepted
• Certifications: AHA BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Experience: Minimum 3 years acute care; telemetry and travel nursing experience required
• Skills: Strong communication, clinical assessment, time management, and ability to float between units

Float Pool Details

You'll float between Med/Surg and Med/Telemetry units; no mid-shift transfers between facilities. Double-time pay after 12 hours per day; overtime after 40 hours per week.
