Registered Nurse – Telemetry

Facility Location: Louisville, KY

Shift & Duration: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Every other weekend | 14-week contract

About the Role

You'll provide continuous cardiac monitoring and nursing care to patients with cardiac and other acute conditions on a telemetry unit. This role requires strong assessment skills, the ability to interpret cardiac rhythms, and prompt clinical decision-making in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms continuously; identify and escalate arrhythmias as needed
• Assess patients and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Administer cardiac medications, including drips and antiarrhythmics, per physician orders
• Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team on patient care plans
• Respond to rapid response and code situations
• Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, treatment, and lifestyle modifications
• Ensure accurate documentation in the EMR
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Supervise and mentor licensed and non-licensed staff as appropriate

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BLS and ACLS certification
• 1+ years of telemetry experience with demonstrated cardiac rhythm interpretation competency
• Ability to manage cardiac medications and monitor cardiac patients
• 2 years of acute care inpatient nursing experience preferred

Education

• ADN or BSN required
