Registered Nurse – Cath Lab
Position Overview
The facility's Cath Lab seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to deliver direct patient care in a high-acuity interventional cardiology environment. You'll work in a fast-paced unit managing patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac procedures. This is a 13-week contract role.
Clinical Scope & Responsibilities
You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients undergoing left and right heart catheterizations, pacemaker and AICD implants, loop recorders, impellas, balloon pumps, transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs), cardioversions, and tilt table studies. You'll care for STEMI patients and perform peripheral IV access. Patient ratio is 1:1.
You'll monitor hemodynamic parameters, document clinical responses to interventions, and collaborate with cardiologists and the interdisciplinary team. You'll also educate patients and families and mentor junior staff when appropriate.
Schedule & Shift Details
- Rotating 5×8 hour shifts
- Week 1: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (day shift)
- Week 2: Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM–7:00 AM, plus Saturday–Sunday, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM (call coverage)
- Guaranteed hours per week (GWW); no on-call or call-in pay
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years acute-care RN experience in a cath lab setting
