Operating Room RN – Travel Contract | Cedar Rapids, IA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour day shifts, 40 hours/week
Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Start Date: September 14, 2026
About the Role
This fast-paced OR team performs a broad range of surgical cases, including advanced robotic procedures, complex vascular surgery, and general surgery. The position requires strong circulating skills and hands-on experience with high-acuity surgical cases.
Clinical Scope
- Robotic-assisted surgery (DaVinci platform, orthopedic and neurosurgical robotic systems)
- Vascular cases: TCAR, TAVR, bypass, endarterectomy, embolectomy, AV fistula
- General surgery
- Spine procedures (preferred)
- Scrub experience preferred in addition to circulating
Call Requirements
- 1 night of call per week
- Up to 1 weekend of call per month
- Holiday rotation: required to work 1–2 of 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 24 months of current OR/Operating Room experience
- Proficient experience in DaVinci robotics
- Proficient experience in vascular cases
- Proficient experience in general surgery
- Travel nursing experience within the previous 15 months
- Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
- Current ACLS (AHA or ARC) and BLS certifications
- 50-mile radius minimum from facility (no local candidates)
