Cardiovascular/Thoracic Operating Room Technician

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Cardiovascular/Thoracic OR Technician for night shift coverage in a specialized surgical environment. This role focuses on cardiovascular, thoracic, transplant, and robotic thoracic procedures.

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: Night, 3x12-hour (18:30–07:00)
  • Weekends: Friday–Sunday required
  • Contract Duration: 18 weeks
  • Start Date: September 21, 2026

Clinical Scope

You'll support a range of cardiothoracic procedures including coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG), valve replacements, aortic and abdominal aortic aneurysm repairs, endovascular repairs, lung resections via thoracotomy and VATS, robotic cardiothoracic surgery, transplant cases, and VAD placement. Patient populations include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics across varying acuity levels.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years OR tech experience (first-time travelers welcome)
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • Georgia RN license or Compact license at time of submission
  • Strong aseptic technique and scope/fiber optic equipment knowledge
  • Proficiency with case carts, crash carts, and instrument processing
  • Flexibility to float within facility scope and to Main OR as needed

Call & Time Off

  • Call details to be discussed at interview
  • Maximum 7 days RTO per contract (must be finalized at submission)
  • Holiday work expected; policy details provided upon offer

Onboarding

  • Full compliance required to start on time
  • Core items and labs due within 48 hours of contract signing
  • Orientation hours vary by contract length
