Cardiovascular/Thoracic Operating Room Technician
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Cardiovascular/Thoracic Operating Room Technician for a cardiothoracic surgery program. This role supports a high-acuity surgical environment managing coronary artery bypass grafts, valve replacements, aortic repairs, transplant procedures, and robotic-assisted thoracic cases.
Schedule & Requirements
- Shift: Day, 3×12-hour (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Contract: 18 weeks
- Start Date: September 21, 2026
- Weekends: Friday–Sunday rotation
- Floating: Within your scope of practice and to main OR as needed
- Call: To be discussed during interview
Experience & Credentials
- Minimum 2 years CVOR or cardiothoracic surgical experience; first-time travelers considered
- Current RN license (Georgia or Compact) required at time of submission
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Clinical screening performed to assess fit for role
Clinical Scope
You'll support procedures including CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic aneurysm repair (open and endovascular), TAVR, lung resection, robotic thoracic surgery, and VAD management. Patient populations span adolescents, adults, and geriatrics across varying acuity levels.
Time Off & Holiday Expectations
- Maximum 7 days RTO per contract (must be finalized at time of submission)
- Holiday work expected per assignment overlap; specific schedule discussed during interview
- No RTO requests during orientation week
Compliance Note
Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in a 2-week reschedule due to bi-weekly orientation cycles.
