Labor & Delivery Nurse – 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery nurse to join the perinatal team. You'll provide comprehensive nursing care in a dynamic clinical environment, managing routine and complex cases while supporting patients and families through one of life's most important moments.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver evidence-based nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Manage fetal monitoring, labor progression, and maternal-fetal assessments
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor effectiveness and side effects
- Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Educate patients and caregivers; identify learning needs and community resources
- Document thoroughly and collaborate effectively with the care team
- Demonstrate leadership and professional practice aligned with ANA standards
Requirements
- License: RN License in Texas or compact state
- Certifications:
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM via NCC) or AWHONN Intermediate FHM
- Current BLS (AHA)
- Current ACLS (AHA)
- Current NRP
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Experience: 1+ year in perinatal or labor & delivery preferred; recent perinatal practice is valuable

- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Schedule: Full-time, 91 guaranteed hours
- Duration: 13 weeks
