Charge CVOR RN – Wichita, KS

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Charge CVOR RN for a 13-week contract assignment. You'll lead the cardiovascular operating room on day shifts (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM) while providing direct patient care and charge duties.

About the Unit

This CVOR performs a full range of open-heart and structural heart procedures, including CABG, AVR, MVR, and TAVR. You'll work in a collaborative environment with 4 RNs and 3 CSTs on the day shift. Patient ratios are 1:1, allowing for focused, high-quality care. The facility's ECMO program is restarting, offering cutting-edge critical care opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Manage room setup, staffing, and workflow during surgical cases
• Provide bedside CVOR nursing care and assist with procedures
• Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia, perfusionists, and the surgical team
• Maintain charge responsibilities including scheduling, supply management, and unit coordination

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year current hospital CVOR RN experience
• Charge CVOR RN experience required
• Active Kansas RN licensure
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• PALS certification preferred
• Prior open-heart surgery experience strongly preferred

Schedule

• Days: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
• On-call: 1 weeknight per week and 1 weekend per month
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
