Cardiac ICU RN — Asheville, NC | Night Shift | 13 Weeks
This night-shift travel opportunity places you in a fast-paced Cardiac ICU managing complex, high-acuity cardiovascular patients. The unit operates as an RN-only environment with no unit secretaries or patient care technicians, so strong independent practice and clinical confidence are essential.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- 36 hours/week, 12-hour shifts
- Alternating weekends required
Clinical Scope
The CICU cares for critically ill cardiac patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring and intervention. Bedside procedures include cardioversion, central line insertion, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, pericardiocentesis, thoracentesis, and EGD.
Required Skills
- Titration of vesicant medications
- Vasopressors, sedation, and paralytics management
- Mechanical ventilation and tracheostomy care
- Telemetry interpretation
- Hemodynamic monitoring, PA catheter setup and interpretation
- Transvenous pacing, cardioversion, and TEE familiarity
Preferred/Advanced Skills
- IABP, Impella, and CRRT experience strongly preferred
- CCRN certification appreciated
Float Policy
Travelers may be floated to other units within the facility.
Dress Code
All navy or navy and white scrubs required. No pullovers, hoodies, or green scrubs.
Certifications
No certifications required at time of hire; CCRN recommended.
Prior ICU experience is required. Candidates with cardiac or cardiovascular critical care backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
