Labor & Delivery / Postpartum / Mother-Baby Nurse — Night Shift
The Opportunity
Join the facility's L&D/PP/MB unit as a 12-hour night shift nurse. You'll care for laboring mothers, manage deliveries, support postpartum recovery, and provide mother-baby couplet care. The unit averages 1.5 births per day and maintains AWHONN-recommended nurse-to-patient ratios.
What You'll Do
- Manage LDRP care and labor support
- Circulate for cesarean sections (1 OR suite on unit)
- Provide postpartum and neonatal care
- Titrate medications, including pitocin
- Float between L&D, postpartum, and mother-baby as needed
- Assist other units when required
- Perform fetal heart rate monitoring and interpretation
What You'll Need
- Current RN license (state)
- ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications
- Intermediate fetal monitoring certification
- LDRP experience and comfort with couplet care
- Ability to circulate in the OR
Schedule & Flexibility
- 12-hour nights (7:00 PM–7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend rotation
- On-call availability per facility policy
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Professional scrubs in any color
- 13-week contract with up to 4 shift cancellations allowed
Unit Support
One surgical tech on staff. OB and anesthesia are not in-house 24/7. Charge nurse carries a patient assignment. One-to-two shifts of unit-specific orientation provided.
