Retail Pharmacist
Position Overview
The facility seeks a licensed Retail Pharmacist to oversee all retail pharmaceutical services, including procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of medications. You'll ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations while delivering high-quality patient care.
Shift & Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- 8-week contract
Key Responsibilities
- Compound and dispense prescribed medications with accuracy
- Review prescriptions for accuracy and determine appropriate formulations
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns in mixing, packaging, and labeling
- Counsel patients on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage
- Maintain quality assurance and security protocols for controlled substances
- Manage pharmacy data entry, inventory, and patient records
- Resolve third-party insurance rejections promptly
- Report medication errors immediately and follow incident protocols
- Build collaborative relationships with physicians and healthcare providers
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Support customer service initiatives and maximize operational efficiency
- May perform technician-level duties as needed based on staffing
Required Qualifications
- California state pharmacy license
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from ACPE-accredited program
- Current BLS Certification
- Continuing education requirements met annually
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and pharmacy systems
