Retail Pharmacist

Position Overview

The facility seeks a licensed Retail Pharmacist to oversee all retail pharmaceutical services, including procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of medications. You'll ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations while delivering high-quality patient care.

Shift & Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
  • 36 guaranteed hours per week
  • 8-week contract

Key Responsibilities

  • Compound and dispense prescribed medications with accuracy
  • Review prescriptions for accuracy and determine appropriate formulations
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns in mixing, packaging, and labeling
  • Counsel patients on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage
  • Maintain quality assurance and security protocols for controlled substances
  • Manage pharmacy data entry, inventory, and patient records
  • Resolve third-party insurance rejections promptly
  • Report medication errors immediately and follow incident protocols
  • Build collaborative relationships with physicians and healthcare providers
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Support customer service initiatives and maximize operational efficiency
  • May perform technician-level duties as needed based on staffing

Required Qualifications

  • California state pharmacy license
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from ACPE-accredited program
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Continuing education requirements met annually
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and pharmacy systems
