Cath Lab RN — Travel Contract | Columbia, SC
Day Shift | 4x10-Hour | 13-Week Contract
This cardiac catheterization lab position offers a dynamic day shift schedule across four 10-hour shifts per week. Start times vary between 7:00–7:30 AM, with end times of 5:30–6:00 PM. The unit performs routine cases on Sundays, which counts as one of the four scheduled shifts.
Schedule & Call Requirements
- 1 call shift per week
- 1 call weekend per 5-week period
- 1 late stay shift per week
Clinical Scope
The cath lab team monitors and scrubs all cases in a high-volume procedural environment serving adult and geriatric patients. Expected competencies include:
- Diagnostic left and right heart catheterizations (adult and pediatric/neonatal)
- Percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) and PTCA
- TAVR, ASD closures, and Watchman procedures
- Rotablator atherectomy and laser-assisted procedures
- IABP placement/removal and Impella insertion
- Permanent and temporary pacemaker insertion
- Ventricular assist device insertion
- Hemodynamic monitoring, PA line insertion, OCT, and IVUS
- Scrub and sterile field maintenance
Required Certifications
ACLS, BLS, ARRT (R), SCRQSA
Additional Details
- Minimum 1 year of cath lab experience required
- Float to qualified units may be required based on census needs
- Orientation: 30 hours (Mondays); pre-assignment modules due within 48 hours of contract start
- Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Travelers must reside at least 100 miles from the facility system to be eligible
