Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgery Technician

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgery Technician for its operating room. This role focuses on cardiovascular, thoracic, transplant, and robotic thoracic procedures.

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: Day, 3×12-hour (11:30 AM – 11:00 PM)
  • Call: 1 day per week and 1 weekend every 4 weeks (subject to departmental needs)
  • Float: Within scope of practice and to main OR as needed
  • Contract: 18 weeks
  • RTO: Maximum 7 days per contract

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience (first-time travelers considered)
  • ACLS and BLS certification required
  • Georgia state license or compact license at time of submission
  • Full compliance documentation required prior to start date

Clinical Scope

You'll support a wide range of cardiothoracic procedures including:

  • Coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG)
  • Valve replacements and repairs
  • Aortic aneurysm repairs (AAA, EVAR, TEVAR)
  • Lung resections and VATS procedures
  • Robotic cardiothoracic surgery
  • Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR)
  • Ventricular assist device (VAD) placement
  • Carotid endarterectomy and vascular procedures

Patient Population

Adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients across varying acuity levels.

What You'll Need

Experience with cardiothoracic instrumentation, scope care, case cart management, aseptic technique, and airway management preferred.
