Emergency Department RN – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week night shift assignment (7p–7a). This is a fast-paced role caring for acute and critical patients presenting with a wide range of emergencies.
Requirements
- Current New York State RN license
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Critical Care and Charge experience preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and intervene in life-threatening situations with clinical judgment and speed
- Provide comprehensive patient care addressing clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual needs
- Recognize and mitigate safety risks; safely assist with patient mobility using appropriate equipment
- Function effectively under pressure with strong problem-solving and creative thinking
- Lead, prioritize, and delegate team tasks; may assume Charge Nurse duties
- Maintain excellent communication and organizational skills in a dynamic environment
Certifications & Training
- Must successfully complete a lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation
- Obtain defibrillation certification within six months
- Obtain IV, medication, and phlebotomy certification during orientation
Assignment Details
- 36-hour weekly guarantee
- 100-mile radius travel requirement
