Emergency Room RN — Freestanding Emergency Department | Corpus Christi, TX

This travel RN opportunity is based in a 24/7 freestanding emergency department delivering high-acuity emergency care to the Corpus Christi community. The unit operates around the clock and manages a fast-paced, diverse patient population requiring rapid clinical decision-making.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required; no on-call obligation
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks | Start date: September 14, 2026

Clinical Scope

Nurses work alongside EMT-Ps and are expected to rapidly identify and respond to Sepsis, STEMI, Stroke, and Trauma presentations. Common procedures include splinting, wound care, IV access, medication administration, patient assessment and reassessment, and clinical oversight of EMT-Ps. Experience with airway management is strongly preferred.

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• TNCC
• PALS or ENPC
• CPI or equivalent

• Demonstrated compassion and sense of urgency
• Strong critical thinking under pressure
• Collaborative team player comfortable in a fast-paced emergency environment
• Airway management and ventilator experience preferred

Additional Details

• Dress code: Royal Blue scrubs; no hoodies
• Float to other emergency departments within the network is possible but uncommon
• Must clock out for lunch and any time leaving the building; communicate departures to the charge nurse coordinator
