CT Technologist

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a CT Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures in a busy imaging department. You'll operate CT scanners to produce high-quality cross-sectional images, interpret physician orders, administer contrast materials, and ensure optimal diagnostic quality for radiologist interpretation.

Shift & Schedule

  • Days, evenings, and rotating weekends
  • 3 x 12-hour shifts
  • 13-week contract
  • 40 guaranteed hours per week

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate CT equipment and select appropriate technical factors and positioning techniques
  • Prepare patients and administer contrast materials safely
  • Assess and maintain diagnostic image quality, ensuring all required demographic and anatomical information is included
  • Review physician orders for accuracy prior to exam initiation
  • Coordinate daily scheduling and patient flow with central scheduling
  • Enter patient data and orders into the facility's computer system
  • Follow strict radiation safety protocols, with special attention to pregnant or potentially pregnant patients
  • Maintain a safe, clean environment and respond appropriately in emergencies
  • Demonstrate excellent patient interaction, privacy advocacy, and pain management awareness

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited radiology technology program
  • Minimum 1 year CT experience
  • Massachusetts DPH Radiology License required
  • ARRT (CT) certification required within two years of hire
  • ARRT (R) preferred
  • Physical ability to exert 20–50 lbs occasionally and lift/position patients safely

  • Experience with Toshiba CT scanners
