Night Shift RN – High-Acuity Trauma Surgery Unit
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced RN for its high-acuity trauma surgery unit. You'll care for post-operative surgical patients, trauma cases including gunshot wounds, and patients with spinal cord injuries (quadriplegic and paraplegic populations).
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Guaranteed 36 hours weekly
- 13-week contract
- Flexible scheduling required; no block schedules
- Start date: November 16, 2026
Requirements
- Current RN license
- BLS Certification (required)
- ACLS Certification (preferred)
- Minimum 2 years experience in surgical or trauma nursing
- No remote work
Clinical Environment
- Robust support staff: nursing support technicians, phlebotomists, and unit secretary on night shift
- Structured handoff process with ED and admitting nurses
- High-acuity patient management with post-operative complications and critical trauma cases
What You'll Do
Provide direct patient care, manage complex post-surgical and trauma cases, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, and mentor newer staff in a fast-paced environment.
