Med/Surg Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Burlington, NC
13-Week Contract | Nights 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
This inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit specializes in stroke (neuro) patient care alongside a diverse population of adults and geriatric patients with multiple co-morbidities. Travelers will work within a well-supported multidisciplinary environment that includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response, and more.
Schedule & Float
- Three 12-hour night shifts per week; every other weekend and holidays as needed
- Float between multiple system campuses is required
Clinical Skills Required
- Telemetry remote monitoring (required); on-unit monitoring (preferred)
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and EKG testing
- Central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care and management
- Port access and management
- Blood product administration
- IV insertion and maintenance
- Feeding tube care and management
- Wound care/wound vac
- CVA management, nasal cannula, isolation precautions
Certifications & Compliance
- BLS and NIHSS required
- Active RN license must be in hand at time of submission
- EKG compliance exam required (two attempts allowed)
- No open background cases permitted
- No candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility
- COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- First-time travelers welcome
- 24-hour facility orientation
- Non-billable compliance modules (approximately 2–4 hours, completed during orientation)
- Pre-approved time off must be submitted with application; no post-submission RTO accepted
