Medical-Surgical Nurse – 14-Week Contract

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Medical-Surgical unit. You'll provide comprehensive care to adult patients with a wide range of medical and surgical diagnoses, from acute post-operative recovery to chronic disease management.

Schedule & Duration

• 36 hours per week, 3x12-hour shifts
• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend and select holidays
• 14-week contract
• Start date: September 21, 2026

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• Minimum 2 years' Med-Surg experience
• Prior travel nursing experience
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• CMSRN certification preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients with varying acuity; escalate changes in condition
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Coordinate discharge planning and patient education
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team
• Typical patient load: 4–6 patients per shift (varies by acuity)
• Ensure infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Accurate EMR documentation
