Transplant Nephrology — Medical/Surgical | Kansas City, MO
Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 13-Week Contract
This Transplant Nephrology unit provides medical/surgical care for patients with complex renal conditions, including kidney transplant recipients and those requiring ongoing renal management. Dialysis is coordinated off the unit, keeping the clinical focus on post-transplant monitoring and med/surg nursing care.
Shift & Schedule
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- 3 weekend shifts per month
- No on-call requirements
Unit Support
- Daytime unit secretary, PCTs, and a unit educator on staff
- Virtual nurse handles patient admissions, allowing bedside nurses to focus on direct patient care
Float Requirements
- Agency/contract nurses float first
Required Qualifications
- ADN minimum
- BLS certification
- Background in Med/Surg, nephrology, kidney transplant, renal, or dialysis nursing strongly preferred
Dress Code
- Royal blue scrubs; black scrub pants permitted
