Ortho/Trauma RN — Kansas City, Missouri

This 91-week travel contract places you on a busy orthopedic and trauma unit caring for post-operative and trauma patients on a day shift schedule (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM).

The Unit

The unit manages post-operative patients following knee, hip, and shoulder replacements, along with trauma cases and occasional neuro overflow. Staffing includes unit secretaries and Patient Care Technicians. You'll practice bedside shift report and hourly rounding as part of the patient care model.

Schedule

• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Three weekend shifts per scheduling period
• 36 guaranteed hours per week

Float Requirements

Contract staff float first and may be assigned to other med-surg level units including General Med-Surg, Nephrology, and Neuro/Trauma.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification
• Orthopedic nursing experience
• Telemetry experience
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) experience helpful

Dress Code

Navy scrubs required
