About the Role
The facility is seeking an experienced Wound Care RN to assess, treat, and manage patients with acute and chronic wounds, including pressure injuries, surgical wounds, and diabetic ulcers. You'll perform wound care procedures such as dressing changes, debridement, and application of advanced wound therapies. This role offers the opportunity to develop individualized treatment plans, educate patients and families on wound prevention and home care, and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess wounds and develop evidence-based treatment plans based on wound type and patient condition
- Perform dressing changes, debridement, and advanced wound care modalities (NPWT, etc.)
- Monitor healing progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Provide ostomy care and patient/family education
- Document assessments and treatments accurately in the medical record
- Follow infection control and safety protocols
- Educate nursing staff on wound prevention and best practices
Requirements
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- BLS certification required
- CWCN or WOCN certification required
- Minimum 1+ years of wound care experience
- Demonstrated experience with wound assessment, debridement, and advanced modalities
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
