Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract | Hopewell, VA

Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

About the Unit

This active Emergency Department manages a broad range of adult and pediatric patients across varying acuity levels. The care team handles high-acuity presentations including cardiac arrests, code stroke, and code sepsis, alongside general emergency care. Night shift is staffed with a charge nurse, 5–6 RNs, a secretary, and a tech/medic.

Procedures You'll Perform

• Cardioversion and pacemaker interrogation
• Central line placement assistance
• Code Stroke and Code Sepsis protocol management
• IV insertions, EKGs, suture/abscess setup
• Cardiac arrest management

Required Skills

• Strong IV skills in both adult and pediatric populations (required)
• Excellent communication skills (required)
• Trauma experience and TNCC certification (preferred)

Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI

Floating: Candidates may float to a freestanding ED location approximately 15 minutes away.

Schedule: Every other weekend required; at least 1 Friday and 1 Monday within each 4-week schedule. No on-call required.

Dress Code: Teal top with black or teal bottoms
