Position Overview
Join the rehabilitation team at the facility in Merced, CA as a Physical Therapist Assistant. You'll work across inpatient acute care and collaborate with a multidisciplinary therapy department serving diverse patient populations and clinical needs.
Schedule & Contract
- Shift: 10-hour days, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- Contract: 13 weeks
- Start Date: September 14, 2026
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Clinical Scope
The inpatient setting manages adults and geriatric patients with orthopedic, neurological, medical, and pulmonary diagnoses. You'll support post-operative care (including joint replacements), early mobility programs for ventilated patients, and stroke rehabilitation. The facility holds JCAHO certification for stroke care and specializes in early mobility protocols.
Requirements & Credentials
- Current California PT license
- BLS (AHA) certification
- Willingness to float between inpatient acute care and affiliated outpatient locations (2.5 miles away)
Team & Support
You'll work alongside 5 inpatient PTAs, licensed therapists, and a dedicated rehabilitation leadership team including a Director of Rehab Services. Floor-specific orientation includes a skills checklist and assigned clinician mentorship.
