Assignment Overview
Start: September | Duration: 13 weeks | Location: Los Angeles, CA
Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 3x12-hour schedule
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years L&D RN experience (3 years for first-time travelers)
- Active California RN license (permanent; no pending or temporary licenses)
- ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications
- High-risk antepartum and teaching hospital experience required
- Flu vaccine mandatory (no exemptions)
- 2 supervisor/peer references from past 12 months of employment
Schedule & Flexibility
- Every other weekend rotation required
- Float assignments rotate through L&D, circulator, baby RN, , and high-risk antepartum
- No on-call requirement
- No scheduling requests accommodated; flexibility is essential
Clinical Scope
The facility manages over 300 deliveries monthly across a 22-room unit with integrated operating rooms and postpartum care areas. You'll support a diverse patient population (ages 13–60) including high-risk pregnancies and complex deliveries. Clinical responsibilities include:
- High-risk vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including multiples
- Fetal monitoring (external, internal, IUPC placement)
- Antepartum management: magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, anticoagulation
- Neonatal resuscitation and care
- Postpartum hemorrhage recognition and management
- and patient assessment
- Perinatal loss support and postmortem preparation
Orientation
36 hours included. No time off during first 2 weeks. Maximum 2 weeks total RTO over contract.
Licensure Note
Valid permanent California RN license required at time of submission. No pending or temporary licenses accepted.
