SICU RN – 13-Week Travel Contract

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced ICU Nurse for its surgical intensive care unit. This is a 13-week travel contract with rotating 3x12-hour shifts (nights 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m. / days 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.). Shift schedules may be adjusted to meet operational needs, and you must be available to work at least every other holiday.

Clinical Scope

You'll provide direct, comprehensive care to critically ill, post-operative patients requiring intensive monitoring and advanced life support. Your responsibilities include:

• Assess and respond to rapid changes in patient condition
• Administer titratable vasoactive and sedation drips per protocol
• Manage advanced equipment (ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, hemodynamic monitors)
• Collaborate with intensivists and interdisciplinary teams on the plan of care
• Perform rapid response and code interventions
• Educate patients and families; maintain accurate EMR documentation
• Maintain infection control and safety standards

Requirements

• RN license (permanent Ohio or compact state license in hand at start)
• 18 months combined permanent SICU experience (travel experience counts)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (active and in hand)
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted
• CCRN preferred
• Experience with critical care equipment and titratable drips
• Valid reference from manager, ANM, or supervisor in critical care (from past 12 months)

Additional Requirements

• ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment during orientation (passing score required; 2 attempts maximum)
• Vaccination: COVID-19 and flu (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Background check and FBI clearance (must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing)
