CVOR Surgical Technician – Day Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a CVOR Certified Surgical Technician for a 13-week contract in Akron, OH. You'll work day shift, 4×10 hours (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM), scrubbing open heart and vascular procedures, including wired vascular cases, in a busy surgical environment.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years recent CVOR experience
Current AHA BLS certification
Active, permanent Ohio license or compact license at time of submission
One professional reference from a manager, supervisor, ANM, or director from an assignment within the past 12 months (manager-level references only; peer references will not be considered)
Clean background (no open cases)
Willingness to complete required pre-start orientation modules and assessments

Schedule & On-Call

Primary shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday–Thursday
On-call: 1–2 weekday call shifts per week (end of shift until 7:00 AM)
Weekend coverage: 1 call every 6 weeks (24-hour Saturday and 24-hour Sunday coverage) plus 1 working shift (Saturday or Sunday) per 6-week cycle, typically coordinated
Possible rotation on holiday call schedule as needed

You'll complete orientation modules (6–15 hours total; 4 hours are paid) and pass ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during onboarding. Extensions available up to 18 months; a 6-month break follows.
