Labor and Delivery Nurse

Shift & Duration

  • 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • 13-week contract
  • 36 guaranteed hours per week

About the Role

The facility's labor and delivery service is a high-volume perinatal center managing complex, high-risk pregnancies and deliveries. You'll work in a fast-paced environment handling over 500 deliveries monthly, supported by 24/7 in-house attending physicians, anesthesia, and neonatal intensive care coverage. The unit includes labor/delivery/recovery suites, operating rooms for cesarean delivery, , mother-baby couplet rooms, and antepartum monitoring beds.

What You'll Do

  • Manage labor progression, fetal monitoring, and delivery care for low- and high-risk patients
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and neonatal specialists
  • Perform neonatal resuscitation and stabilization
  • Participate in the facility's perinatal transport program
  • Support a teaching service environment

Required Credentials & Experience

  • Current Texas RN license
  • BLS Provider (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
  • Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certification
  • Minimum 2 years labor and delivery/perinatal experience in a high-volume delivery service
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program

Preferred

  • 3–5 years perinatal clinical experience
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. Program certification
  • Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
