Operating Room RN — Travel Contract | Cedar Rapids, IA
Shift: Monday–Friday evenings, 4×10 schedule (shift start between 12:00 PM–2:00 PM, at department discretion based on staffing and cases)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Start Date: September 14
About the Unit
This busy OR supports a high-volume, diverse surgical caseload including robotic-assisted procedures, orthopedic total joints, spine, and general surgery. The unit runs robotics-driven total joint cases and requires nurses who can circulate independently across a wide range of specialties.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 24 months of current Operating Room RN experience
- Proficient in DaVinci robotic-assisted surgery (circulation)
- Proficient in orthopedic surgery, including total joints and spine
- Proficient in general surgery
- Spine experience required
- Travel nursing experience within the past 15 months required
- Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
- BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC) required
Preferred Qualifications
- Mako and/or Rosa robotic equipment experience (highly preferred — approximately 80% of total joint cases use these platforms)
- Scrub experience (nice to have)
Additional Details
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Contractors are required to work 1–2 of the following summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day
- On-call rate and charge/preceptor differentials available
- Skills checklist specific to OR RN and a professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, or manager within the past 24 months required at submission
