Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical Unit

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Registered Nurse for its medical-surgical unit serving renal and general medical patients. This is a 13-week contract role with a guaranteed 36 hours per week.

Shift & Schedule

• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

Clinical Details

You'll care for young adults through older adults (ages 18+) on a unit managing:

• Peritoneal and hemodialysis patients
• General medical patients
• Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:6

As the RN on your team, you assume full responsibility for patient care and collaborate with LPNs, PCTs, and nursing interns.

Float Expectations

You may be asked to float to different units within a 35-mile radius based on staffing needs, patient census, and acuity. You'll always receive notification before your shift if a float assignment is required.

Required Credentials & Certifications

• Current RN license (must pass Nursys verification)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Standard immunizations and health screening (MMR, Hepatitis B, Tdap, Varicella, TB clearance)
• Background check and employment verification

Onboarding includes facility-specific competency assessments, medical-surgical exam, EKG certification, and charting system orientation.
