Labor & Delivery RN — Night Shift
Assignment Overview
Join the perinatal team for a 20-week night shift role working 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). This position supports low- and high-risk labor and delivery, neonatal care, and postpartum services. First-time travelers are welcome; minimum 3 years of experience required.
Unit & Clinical Scope
You'll work across , labor/delivery/recovery rooms, operating rooms, NICU, and postpartum areas. The team includes 24/7 OB hospitalists and anesthesia support. Patient populations include neonates, adolescents, and adults. You'll manage external fetal monitoring, recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, and circulate for cesarean sections.
Schedule & Expectations
- Night shifts: 3x12 hours per week
- 4 weekend shifts per month (Friday or Saturday nights)
- On-call is voluntary; you may be asked to float to other perinatal areas if not needed for your scheduled shift
- Must work most holidays; one holiday RTO may be requested but is not guaranteed
- No time off during the first two weeks of the assignment
Required Credentials & Certifications
- Active California RN license (required at submission)
- AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Advanced
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- References required
Pre-Start Requirements
- Advanced EKG exam (80% minimum passing score; 2 attempts allowed)
- Compliance modules prior to start
- Smoke/nicotine-free facility — arrive free of tobacco odor
