Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Winston-Salem, NC

Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: Nights, 3×12-hour (18:45–07:15) | Start: September 21, 2026

About the Unit

This fast-paced GI/Med-Surg Telemetry unit cares for a diverse adult and geriatric population including patients with GI conditions, blood loss and GI-related anemia, infections, renal diagnoses, and post-GI surgical recovery. The unit also maintains dedicated telemetry beds for continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring. On average, approximately one-third of beds turn over daily, making adaptability and strong clinical judgment essential.

Schedule & Float

  • 36–48 hours available per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required to other med/surg units as needed
  • No RTO during the first week; no additional RTO requests after signing

Orientation: 36 hours | Scrubs: Navy and/or white

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience
  • At least 2 completed travel assignments (first-time travelers not accepted)
  • Active RN license in NC or a Compact state
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start
  • IV start proficiency

Key Clinical Skills

  • Blood product administration
  • Central line care and management
  • Heparin protocol management
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation
  • BiPAP/CPAP management
  • Wound care, surgical drain management
  • Renal failure patient care

Preferred: Telemetry experience

Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered). COVID-19 vaccine not required.
