Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Winston-Salem, NC
Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: Nights, 3×12-hour (18:45–07:15) | Start: September 21, 2026
About the Unit
This fast-paced GI/Med-Surg Telemetry unit cares for a diverse adult and geriatric population including patients with GI conditions, blood loss and GI-related anemia, infections, renal diagnoses, and post-GI surgical recovery. The unit also maintains dedicated telemetry beds for continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring. On average, approximately one-third of beds turn over daily, making adaptability and strong clinical judgment essential.
Schedule & Float
- 36–48 hours available per week
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required to other med/surg units as needed
- No RTO during the first week; no additional RTO requests after signing
Orientation: 36 hours | Scrubs: Navy and/or white
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- At least 2 completed travel assignments (first-time travelers not accepted)
- Active RN license in NC or a Compact state
- BLS and ACLS required
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- IV start proficiency
Key Clinical Skills
- Blood product administration
- Central line care and management
- Heparin protocol management
- Dysrhythmia interpretation
- BiPAP/CPAP management
- Wound care, surgical drain management
- Renal failure patient care
Preferred: Telemetry experience
Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered). COVID-19 vaccine not required.
