Registered Nurse

Emergency Department RN — Night Shift | Asheville, NC

This is a 13-week contract opportunity in a high-volume emergency department serving a diverse, multicultural community. The unit manages a broad range of acute presentations, including behavioral health holds, cardiac monitoring, and complex medical cases across all acuity levels.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 18:45–07:15
• Every other weekend required
• Block scheduling is not available; scheduling must flex to meet department needs
• No floating outside the ED, but must be willing to float to all internal sections (, cardiac monitoring, internal processing)

Clinical Scope

• High-volume ED environment with varied patient population
• Areas include , cardiac monitoring unit, and internal processing
• Behavioral health patient management is part of regular practice
• Support staff includes ED techs and unit clerks on both days and nights

Required Certifications (prior to start)

• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC within 90 days of start

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in an ED setting
• Prior experience in a high-volume emergency environment strongly preferred
• Strong teamwork orientation and ability to coach peers in real time
• Flexibility to work across all areas of the department

Dress Code: Navy scrubs

Contract: 13 weeks | 36 guaranteed hours per week | Start date: September 28, 2026
