Registered Nurse – Night Shift
Medical Intermediate Care Unit | 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
Join the Medical Intermediate Care Unit for a 12-hour night shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM). This unit blends medical-telemetry and intermediate care services, managing a diverse patient population with moderate to high acuity needs.
Unit & Patient Population
You'll care for patients experiencing acute medical conditions including ia, COPD exacerbation, diabetic ketoacidosis, hyperglycemic hyperosmolar state, alcohol withdrawal, gastrointestinal bleeding, sepsis, pulmonary embolism, urinary tract infection, and respiratory failure. Patient ratios are 1:3 in intermediate care and 1:6 on the medical side.
Clinical Requirements
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- 1–2 years of nursing experience preferred
- Strong proficiency with:
- Tracheostomy and ventilator management
- High-flow nasal cannula
- Cardiac drips and telemetry monitoring
- BiPAP and non-invasive respiratory support
Schedule & Flexibility
- 12-hour nights, 7 nights per pay period
- Occasional floating to other units
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- 13-week contract
Geographic Requirement
Must reside outside a 90-mile radius from the facility.
Candidate Eligibility
Massachusetts RN licensure required. Applicants must be willing to verify credentials and background as part of the onboarding process.
