Neuro Stepdown Nurse – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Neuro Stepdown nurse for night shift coverage. This is a temporary contract role providing patient care in a progressive care setting.

Shift & Contract Details

• Shift: Night, 3×12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Contract Duration: 13–20 weeks (winter coverage)
• Start Date: September 25, 2026
• Holiday Coverage: Must work at least every other holiday

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months combined permanent experience in Neuro Stepdown (travel experience counts)
• Active Ohio license or compact state license in hand at time of submission
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• One professional reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director required (from work within the past 12 months; co-worker references not accepted)

Clinical Scope

You'll provide care to stepdown patients recovering from neurological procedures and conditions, working collaboratively with physicians, therapists, and nursing support staff to manage patient recovery and progression.

Orientation & Assessments

During orientation, you'll complete ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments. Acceptable scores on both are required to progress; you'll have two attempts maximum.

Additional Requirements

• Negative 10-panel drug screen (if applicable per facility policy)
• Background check and BCI/FBI clearance (must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing)
